Kids ride night.
Great night of racing for the F4 Modified club. Even with all the wrecks we have had in the past 2 weeks. The club came in strong with 12 cars to start with 2 drivers not available for the night. That would have made 14 cars! The club is growing and will continue as we have drivers looking for cars.
Kids rides.
The kids were also out strong tonight! #8 Craig Shaver went out and took 4 Kids around the track in the #8 car. We were only able to get 1 Photo as my camera shut down for some reason. If anyone has pictures of the kids ride please forward here and I will post them.
Heat Race
The weather was hot and so was the racing. The field lined up with 12 cars for the heat race.Starting on the pole was #20 Jeff Lancaster with #37 Jay Hewer on the outside.Coming of corner 4 to take the green was a little scary as there was allot of speedy dry down from a Late Model crash. Everyone came through clean and down into corner 1. The 20 car held the lead into the first corner with Steve Garry #23 on his tail. Steve Garry's car went in hard but would not turn. His pushed up and collected #37 Jay Hewer witch put Jay into the wall. #13 Rob Park thought he was safe but the #23 rolled back and Rob caught a front wheel . After a long cleanup the field was ready to go. #20 Jeff Lancaster took the green with #8 Craig Shaver on his tail and Mark Millard in the hunt. After 2 laps the #8 had tried the inside but could not get through. Into corner 1 #8 drove hard to the outside and completed the pass on #20. Next was Mark Millard #3 and he completed the pass on the #20 and set his sites on the #8. Last lap Mark Millard tried down low through 3 and 4 but Craig Shaver held on for the win!
Feature race
For the Feature event we started with 9 Cars as we lost 3 from the crash in the heat race. Starting on the pole was #20 Jeff Lancaster with Mark Millard #3 on the outside. The field took the green and roared into corner #1. Jeff lancaster took the lead with Mark Millard all over him. Behind them Craig Shaver #8 pass #99 Jodie McCusker for 3rd. On the 2nd lap Mark Millard was trying every comer on the #20. Into Corner #1 Jeff pushed up and Mark got under him and passed on the back stretch. Jeff tried the crossover and got into the back of the #3 into corner 3. Mark got loose but saved it and took the lead. Caution flew for the #5 Shean Carey spinning into the grass. The field took the green once again and Craig Shaver #8 And Rob Park #13 were all over the #20. Rob Passed the 20 into corner 1 with Craig Shaver in tow. With 2 laps to go Rob Park lost his brakes and spun off corner #2. Craig Shaver #8 just missed Rob park as he spun. With only 1 lap to go the #8 tried to catch Mark Millard #3 but did not have enough time. Mark Millard hangs on to win the feature event!
